Well they got the synopsis totally right; this is no way your typical love story. There are no fluffy bunnies, floating dreamy clouds and liberal endearments, there is is a boat load of Rottweilers, masses of dense grey storm clouds and 'F' you's all the way through that actually make this a bloomin' brilliant modern day love story.
There is no better way than to have brought Deuce's and Eva's story to life other than the gritty, often shocking, forceful way that Madeline has penned this book. It's totally like watching a train wreck, utterly shocked by it but there's absolutely no way you can pull yourself away from the scene.
Not a book for the faint hearted, there are no cover ups to deliver an ugly scene gently, it's thrown at you and you just have to roll with it. But what I also found was, I was laughing out loud at some of the wit.
Simply this book has it all, romance, horrifying circumstances, abject misery, love and honour but most of all it was real.
